Job Description

This position is also being announced to applicants eligible to apply through Merit Staffing procedures under 26-NOW-13029523-MS. If selected for this position, the incumbent will plan and conduct routine investigations and/or financial examinations relating to either criminal violations or civil actions within the jurisdiction of the United States Attorney's Office. Typical work assignments will include: Planning, conducting and participating in routine and financial investigations with Federal, State, and local officials Accessing, collecting, examining and analyzing data, evidence, and other information from a variety of sources, including public access and law enforcement databases Analyzing evidence obtained from investigators, analysts, and law enforcement officers and assisting investigators in tracking leads and gathering information Preparing comprehensive reports related to investigations for use by prosecutors Performing a variety of ancillary investigations-related analytical services in direct support of litigation including assisting in the analysis and compilation of documents and physical evidence and creating audio and visual materials for use in motions and at trial Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as your training and experience progress.
