Position: Intern – Occupational Safety, Health & Fire Safety Auditor
Department: Fire Safety & Consultancy
Location: Nairobi, Kenya
Duration: 6–12 Months (Renewable based on performance)

About

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Occupational Safety, Health & Fire Safety Intern to support our consultancy team in conducting workplace OSH audits, fire safety audits, risk assessments, and safety training programs.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will work under the supervision of senior consultants and will assist in:

Occupational Safety & Health

• Participate in Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) workplace audits.
• Assist in identifying workplace hazards and recommending corrective actions.
• Support preparation of OSH audit reports and compliance documentation.
• Conduct workplace inspections and hazard identification exercises.
• Assist clients in implementing workplace safety improvement measures.

Fire Safety

• Assist in conducting fire safety audits and fire risk assessments.
• Inspect fire protection systems, fire extinguishers, hydrants, hose reels, sprinklers, emergency lighting, and fire alarm systems.
• Verify compliance with applicable fire safety legislation and standards.
• Support preparation of fire audit reports and recommendations.

Safety Training

• Assist in organizing and conducting:
  • Fire safety training
  • Fire warden training
  • Emergency evacuation drills
  • Occupational safety awareness training
  • Basic fire extinguisher practical demonstrations
• Prepare training materials and attendance records.

Documentation & Reporting

• Prepare audit checklists and inspection reports.
• Compile photographs and supporting evidence from site inspections.
• Assist in preparing professional technical reports and client presentations.
• Maintain proper documentation and filing of audit records.

Client Support

• Participate in client meetings and site visits.
• Provide professional support during consultancy assignments.
• Promote excellent customer service and professionalism.
