Job Description

Who we are looking for:

We're seeking a Human Resource Officer who takes initiative, communicates with empathy, and isn't afraid to roll up their sleeves to support both employees and the business. You'll thrive here if you're open to feedback, willing to learn, and able to make sound, balanced decisions while keeping our company mission and vision at the center of everything you do.

This role is about more than policies and paperwork—it's about creating a positive employee experience, building meaningful relationships across the company, and helping people do their best work. If you're someone who enjoys solving problems, collaborating with others, and making a real impact every day, you are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities:

  • Support recruitment, onboarding, induction and exit processes, ensuring a smooth employee lifecycle experience.
  • Administer employee records, contracts, leaves and attendance, to ensure accurate and up-to-date personnel information in compliance with statutory and company requirements.
  • Support the performance management process, including appraisal coordination and documentation.
  • Handle employee relations matters by effectively addressing grievances, disciplinary issues, and promoting a positive workplace culture.
  • Ensure compliance with labor laws, Company policies, and HR best practices.
  • Support payroll administration by providing accurate employee data, leave records, and benefits information through the HR system.
  • Assist in the coordination and implementation of training and development initiatives.
  • Assist in implementing employee engagement initiatives, staff recognition programs, and internal communication strategies.
  • Contribute to a culture of innovation, learning, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

  • Relevant professional qualifications such as a Diploma or a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field; HR certifications (e.g. CHRP or equivalent) are an added advantage.
  • Minimum of two (2) years' experience in a Human Resource Officer role.
  • Sound knowledge of Kenyan labor laws and statutory compliance requirements.
  • Proficiency in Google workspace applications, particularly google spreadsheets. Experience with HRIS and payroll systems is an added advantage.
  • Working knowledge of Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) — the company’s ATS will be introduced during onboarding.

Key Competencies:

  • Proactive, accountable, and results-oriented.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • High level of integrity and confidentiality.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced multicultural environment.
