Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced candidates to fill the above-mentioned vacancies that have arisen within the Municipality of Chegutu.

Duties and Responsibilities

Reporting to the Roads and Projects Engineer

1.1 Key Result Areas

* Produce specifications and designs of new public lighting, traffic signals and municipal electrical infrastructure and modifications.* Design, selection and installation of all electrical plant and equipment such as power transformers, power generators, motors and motor control centres, refrigeration units and air-conditioners, building lighting, heating and ventilation systems.* Design and installation of new public lighting schemes.* Troubleshooting and repairing malfunctioning equipment, appliances and apparatus.* Constructing and fabricating parts using hand tools and specifications.* Ordering electrical supplies and equipment.* Repairing electrical faults at all municipal installations.* Supervising subordinate employees.* Any other duties as assigned by the supervisor from time to time.

Qualifications and Experience

1.2 Qualifications and Attributes

* National Diploma in Electrical Engineering or Skilled Worker Class 1 and Electrical Engineering Certificate.* A clean Class 4 or Class 3 driver’s licence.* A minimum of 6 years’ experience.* No criminal record.* Results-oriented.
