Job Description
Marine Corps Community Services (MCCS) is looking for the best and brightest to join our Team! MCCS is a comprehensive program that supports and enhances the quality of life for Marines, their families, and others in the Marine Corps Community. We offer a team oriented environment comprised of military personnel, civilian employees, contractors and volunteers who keep the organization functioning smoothly and effectively. Performs a variety of seasonal gardening tasks to ensure neatness and cleanliness of the landscaping areas around Marine Corps Community Services building and properties aboard Marine Corps Air Station Miramar. Responsible for maintaining and improving outdoor spaces, including lawns and grounds. Duties typically include trimming, edging, weeding, applying mulch, blowing leaves from sidewalks, fertilizing, and irrigating various plants, as well as operating and maintaining landscaping equipment. Pruning shrubs and low trees to improve the growth habit or remove damaged branches. Picking up trash, debris, and fallen branches. May measure and mix specified amounts of fungicides, insecticides, and herbicides following instructions on product labels and in a manner consistent with environmental instructions. Observes environmental and safety rules and regulations. May drive a motor vehicle with a gross vehicle weight of up to 10,000 pounds throughout an installation under limited traffic conditions at low speeds to transport supplies and equipment. Provides exceptional customer service, and upholds high service standards using respect, courtesy, professionalism, and teamwork. Takes initiative to solve problems quickly but recognizes when to seek assistance to resolve issues. Collaborates in a professional, supportive, and proactive manner. Adheres to safety regulations and standards. Promptly reports any observed workplace hazards, and any injury, occupational illness, and/or property damage resulting from workplace mishaps to the immediate supervisor. Adheres to established standards of actively supporting the principles of the EEO program and prevention of sexual harassment. Performs other related duties as assigned. EVALUATIONS:
