Job Description
Corrections professionals who foster a humane and secure environment and ensure public safety by preparing individuals for successful reentry into our communities. Maintains the physical security of the institution through installation, maintenance and repairs of an array of electronic systems inclusive, but not limited to, PBX telephone switch, trunked radio systems, fire alarm systems, perimeter detection systems, programmable logic controllers and CCTV/DVR systems. These systems are critical to the physical security of the institution in preserving the safety and well- being of staff and the inmate populace. Maintains, develops modifications, and ensures the reliability of the institution's electronic security and communication systems. Provides technical support during the preparation of drawings and specifications for electronic and telecommunication equipment as required by B&F Projects, Work Orders, etc. Conducts inspections and performs preventive maintenance as required by policy. Along with all other correctional institution employees, incumbent is charged with responsibility for maintaining security of the institution. The staffs correctional responsibilities precede all others required by this position and are performed on a regular and recurring basis.
