These are non-bargaining nit positions.
As a Congressional Liaison Specialist, at full performance level, you will perform the following duties: Serve as a Congressional Affairs Specialist, responsible for the performance of the full range of congressional work including acknowledging, researching, and tracking inquiries from Members of Congress and their staff, and Congressional Committees. Schedule and coordinate briefings for Members of Congress, Congressional Committees and their staff, as requested or proposed by the Agency, to educate Congress and promote favorable congressional decisions. Develop and maintain an effective working relationship with other key ICE program officials, including ICE field offices, ERO, HIS, and suboffices, remaining aware of the operational needs of the programs. Develop and maintain a harmonious relationship with congressional staff promoting an effective interchange of information between the Congress and ICE. To meet agency needs, this position will be filled under a time-limited appointment, of more than one year but not-to-exceed (NTE) 4 Years based on management approval which will be determined by their review of workload requirements and available funding. This is not a permanent appointment and does not allow for conversion to a permanent competitive service. Note: One or more positions may be filled using this vacancy announcement.
