Learn and perform basic cooking tasks such as boiling, frying, and grilling as directed by the Chef de Partie or Sous Chef, ensuring consistency and quality. Keep your workstation clean and organized, following strict hygiene practices in accordance with Irish food safety standards. Ensure that all ingredients are stored properly, label ingredients, and monitor stock levels to prevent waste, particularly for perishables like fresh produce and meats. Assist in the plating of dishes, ensuring the presentation is consistent with restaurant standards before serving to customers. Key Requirements; A foundational understanding of Indian ingredients, spices, and cooking methods (such as tandoori cooking, curry-making, and naan preparation) is an advantage. Ability to use knives efficiently for cutting, chopping, slicing, and dicing, with a focus on speed and precision. A keen eye for detail, particularly in food preparation and presentation, ensuring dishes meet quality and consistency standards. Eagerness to learn from senior chefs, develop new cooking skills, and adapt to the restaurant’s kitchen environment. Familiarity with basic cooking techniques, including frying, boiling, grilling, and baking.
