Reconciliation Victoria is seeking an exceptional Chief Executive Officer to lead their organisation through its next chapter of growth, influence and impact.
This is an opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to reconciliation, by leading Victoria's peak statewide reconciliation organisation. Working closely with the Board, Cultural Council of First Peoples, staff, members and partners, you will champion genuine reconciliation by strengthening relationships, amplifying Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander voices, supporting truth-telling and helping create a more just and equitable Victoria.

Reconciliation Victoria provides leadership in building understanding, support and action for reconciliation across Victoria.
Our work is guided by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander voices through our Cultural Council of First Peoples and is underpinned by our values of courage, collaboration, inclusion, truth-listening and action. We work alongside community organisations, local reconciliation groups, education providers, government and corporate partners to create lasting change.
About the Role
Reporting to the Board, the CEO will provide strategic and operational leadership across all aspects of the organisation.
Key areas of responsibility include:
- Providing strategic leadership and implementing the organisation's Strategic and Operational Plans
- Building strong relationships with the Board, Cultural Council and key stakeholders
- Leading advocacy and representing Reconciliation Victoria publicly
- Driving financial sustainability through government, corporate and philanthropic partnerships
- Leading and developing a committed, high-performing team
- Ensuring sound governance, financial stewardship and organisational compliance
- Strengthening partnerships across Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, government, education and the broader community
About You
You are an authentic, values-driven leader who combines strategic thinking with a collaborative leadership style.
You will bring:
- Significant senior leadership experience within the not-for-profit, community or public sectors
- Demonstrated experience working respectfully and effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and communities
- A genuine commitment to reconciliation, truth-telling and self-determination
- Strong governance, financial management and organisational leadership capability
- Experience developing sustainable funding opportunities and strategic partnerships
- Outstanding communication, advocacy and stakeholder engagement skills
- A collaborative and empowering leadership style that builds trust and inspires others
