Development Aid from People to People (DAPP) Zimbabwe is a Private Voluntary Organisation registered under the Ministry of Labour and Social Services in 1980 (Registration No. PVO 22/80). The organisation implements programmes across five key sectors: Agriculture, Health, Education, Community Development, and Emergency. DAPP Zimbabwe is seeking applications from suitably qualified candidates for a position that has arisen within the Accounts Department.

Job Title: BookkeeperLocation: Onsite: Harare office Contract Type: Fixed Term Contract, renewable subject to performance and funding

Position SummaryThe Bookkeeper will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance with organisational policies. Key duties include recording transactions, reconciling accounts, preparing financial reports, and supporting audit readiness. This position requires attention to detail, integrity, and the ability to work effectively with project teams and management.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions, including receipts and payments2. Handle cash books, reconcile bank statements, and ensure proper documentation of petty cash and project expenditures.3. Regularly reconcile ledgers, partner accounts, and project budgets to ensure transparency and accountability.4. Prepare financial reports in line with policies, donor requirements, and statutory obligations5. Organize and file supporting documents for internal and external audits, ensuring audit readiness at all times.6. Track project expenditures against approved budgets and flag variances for corrective action.7. Maintaining Project asset registers

Qualifications and Experience

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or an equivalent qualification• Proficiency in PASTEL accounting software • At least 3 years’ experience as a Bookkeeper in an NGO environment• Clean Class 4 Driver’s License
