Key Responsibilities

Guyana Tax & Statutory Compliance

• Maintain strong working knowledge of applicable Guyanese tax laws and regulations and ensure that the company remains compliant with its local tax obligations.
• Coordinate the preparation, review and timely filing/payment of applicable corporation tax, withholding tax, VAT, PAYE, NIS and other statutory obligations.
• Assess the Guyana tax treatment of payments to local and international vendors, contractors, consultants and other service providers, including applicable withholding tax requirements.
• Coordinate with the Guyana Revenue Authority (GRA), external tax advisers, auditors and other regulatory bodies as required.
• Maintain appropriate documentation and schedules supporting tax calculations, filings and payments.
• Monitor changes in Guyanese tax and regulatory requirements and communicate their potential impact to management and the international team.
• Support compliance with applicable Companies Act requirements and other statutory filings.

Accounting & Financial Reporting

• Own and maintain the full set of books and accounting records for the Guyana operations.
• Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and annual financial close.
• Prepare and review financial statements, management accounts, reconciliations and supporting schedules.
• Maintain accounting records in accordance with IFRS and applicable local requirements.
• Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, accruals, fixed assets, intercompany transactions and general ledger reconciliations.
• Maintain appropriate accounting treatment across multiple entities, currencies and projects where applicable.
• Lead the company side of annual external audits and coordinate information requested by auditors and advisers.

Treasury & Financial Operations

• Oversee local bank accounts, cash management and treasury activities.
• Monitor cash requirements and prepare cash-flow forecasts.
• Review payments and supporting documentation before processing or approval.
