About the Position: This position is located at A.T. Augusta Military Medical Center at Fort Belvoir, VA 22060. This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. Serve as the clinical and nursing subject matter expert for the Pediatric Ambulatory Clinic, providing direct patient care and oversight of nursing practice within the Patient Centered Medical Home (PCMH). Direct ambulatory nursing services to ensure safe, high-quality, patient-centered care while improving access, clinical outcomes, and operational efficiency. Lead implementation of evidence-based nursing practice, quality improvement initiatives, patient safety, performance improvement initiatives. Oversee compliance with accreditation and regulatory standards, including Joint Commission, and applicable nursing practice requirements. Collaborate with physicians, interdisciplinary teams, and senior leadership to optimize clinic performance, enhance patient access, achieve HEDIS and preventive health measures, and support strategic initiatives. Develop nursing policies, procedures, clinical guidelines, and competency programs to ensure standardized, compliant, and effective patient care. Provide clinical leadership, education, mentoring, and professional development for nursing personnel, medical staff, trainees, and ancillary healthcare team members. Supervise military, civilian, and contract nursing personnel, including Registered Nurses (RNs), Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Medical Assistants (MAs), Health Technician (HT), and ancillary staff. Perform the full range of supervisory duties, including workload management, staffing, scheduling, recruitment, onboarding, performance evaluations, coaching, disciplinary actions, leave approval, and staff development.
