The incumbent serves as the Supervisory Medical Support Assistant (MSA) within Integrated Care Services (ICS), overseeing medical administrative operations for Outpatient Clinics and Health Care Centers across the Health Care System. ICS supports patient care through functions such as intake and processing, eligibility, insurance verification, scheduling, travel coordination, transfers, records management, transcription, revenue-cycle activities, and coding. Total Rewards of a Allied Health Professional The Supervisory Medical Support Assistant (MSA) is responsible for supervising administrative functions that directly impact patient access, clinical efficiency, revenue-cycle operations, and regulatory compliance. The role integrates leadership, staff development, process oversight, and interdepartmental coordination to ensure outpatient services operate smoothly, efficiently, and in alignment with VHA standards. Key duties include develop training programs, conduct training sessions, assesses training needs and effectiveness, provide coaching and support, maintain training records and compliance, supervising staff, evaluating performance, resolving patient-service issues, and addressing employee concerns. The incumbent supports the Chief of Operations and Associate Chief of Staff, contributing to decisions that impact daily operations and program development. Additional responsibilities include data extraction, analysis, and report preparation to support performance measures, insurance capture, and workload monitoring. The incumbent collaborates with HIMS and Quality Management to ensure medical-record practices meet TIC, ROI, and privacy standards. They participate in cross-service meetings, help establish short- and long-term goals for outpatient areas, and represent ICS on committees or task groups. Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Relocation Incentives: Not Authorized Pay: Competitive salary and regular salary increases Paid Time Off: 37-50 days of annual paid time offer per year (13-26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year) Parental Leave: After 12 months of employment, up to 12 weeks of paid parental leave in connection with the birth, adoption, or foster care placement of a child.
