The incumbent serves as a Supervisory Information Technology (IT) Specialist and reports directly to the NIH Chief Information Security Officer (CISO). The incumbent will provide expert guidance to the NIH Chief Information Officer (CIO), Deputy CIO and NIH CISO and independently leads special projects to further OCIO, OD, and NIH mission goals at their request. Advise Leadership on the direction and management of significant NIH Information Security Operations activities under relevant statutory and Federal mandates affecting operational security. Lead and oversee the detection, analysis and response to operational information security issues and the development and implementation of NIH information security operations, incident response, and information security policy. Oversee and manage staff in initiating, planning, designing, developing, implementing, monitoring and evaluating an effective NIH-wide Information Security Operations Program to ensure that appropriate safeguards and measures are taken. Lead and guide on matters dealing with the design, implementation, management and evaluation of security operations processes and procedures. Manage the NIH Information Security Program’s Security Operations activities and advise and assist leadership on NIH security operations and other Information Security matters.
