Mental Health Intensive Case Management (MHICM) is CARF accredited program that fully embrace and incorporate the core principles of psychosocial rehabilitation and recovery in all interactions, interventions, and program development. The primary responsibilities of this position are to provide intensive case management services, continuous quality improvement activities, evaluation/consultation, psychosocial assessments, patient groups, individual therapy, placement services, and referrals to various community agencies and hospital services to MHICM clients. The senior social worker in MHICM functions at a fully autonomous level. While working in the community, there is no immediate supervision or ready access to consultation. The senior social worker must appropriately assess, plan, and implement immediate response in situations that may have the veteran or the social worker at risk of harm.
