The Registered Nurse Recruiter is responsible for providing competent, evidence-based practices in relation to recruitment and retention for a facility, demonstrating competence in practice and decision-making, deliberate planning, and critical thinking skills. Serves as the key member in delivering and improving the processes of recruitment, onboarding, and retention of Registered Nurses (RNs). Identifies highly qualified talent for facilities aligning with the mission of caring for Veterans. Major duties include but are not limited to: Demonstrates clinical knowledge, skills, and abilities in alignment with recruitment and retention standards of practice. Utilizes nursing process to manage, prioritize, and organize recruitment and retention tasks to meet challenging staffing and workforce needs. Manages and completes own assignments in a safe and timely manner, seeks guidance when appropriate. Follows up to ensure that assigned delegated tasks are completed. Utilizes nursing knowledge and the nursing process to participate in activities to improve nurse retention. Utilizes nursing knowledge to screen candidates to determine the best qualified based on expectations of the specific position. Organizes assigned resources to increase efficiency within recruitment and retention. Effectively utilizes the nursing process to partner will internal and external stakeholders to ensure there is a continuous nurse workforce pipeline to meet the needs of the enterprise. Self-directed in seeking out colleagues to share nursing workforce recruitment and retention information. Recognizes elements of a successful recruitment program through participation in job fairs, professional meetings, and conventions. Serves as the facility Staffing Methodology Coordinator and as the facility Employee Incentive Scholarship/National Nursing Education Initiative Scholarship Coordinator.
