The VA North Texas Health Care System (VANTHCS) is seeking a Registered Nurse for the role of Patient Safety Manager Lead. This position is non-supervisory and facilitates patient-safety-related projects, collaborates with interdisciplinary teams, and provides guidance to Patient Safety Specialists and supports the Patient Safety Manager. The Patient Safety Manager Lead (PSML) serves as a clinical and analytical expert responsible for coordinating patient safety activities across the organization. Supports a high-reliability culture through event review, risk identification, and proactive improvement efforts. Responsibility for the coordination of care focused on patient education, self-management, and customer satisfaction throughout the continuum of care. Applies strong nursing informatics skills to create, analyze, and interpret safety reports; identify trends; monitor action plans; and support data-driven decision-making. Demonstrates excellent judgment, and influences care outcomes by supporting education, leading improvement initiatives, and ensuring timely follow-up on safety events. PSM Lead supports and guides other Patient Safety Specialists, offering expertise, coaching, and guidance on patient safety priorities, methodologies, and data-driven practices. Promote culturally competent care and reinforce a culture of accountability and high-quality, cost-effective outcomes. Maintains comprehensive knowledge of regulatory and accreditation standards, Directives, policies, and Standard Operating Procedures. Leads initiatives to improve Veteran/patient experience, satisfaction and/or safety beyond the immediate practice setting. Communicates and collaborates as an effective leader of the interprofessional team, at the expert level, with improved evidence-based and/or data-driven outcomes beyond the immediate practice setting. Meets the needs of the Veteran and as appropriate the Veteran's family, caregiver and/or significant other, the Veteran's representative, visitors to VA facilities, all VA staff and other customers while supporting VA missions.
