This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) & eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application. Former EDRP participants ineligible to apply. The major duties of the Critical Care Registered Nurse include, but are not limited to: Responsible and accountable for all elements of the nursing process when providing and/or supervising direct patient care. Coordinates care with emphasis on patient education, self-management, and customer satisfaction across the continuum of care. Administers medications and procedures in accordance with established policies and guidelines. Collaborates with interdisciplinary team members to influence and improve patient care outcomes. Demonstrates leadership and experience in managing complex and critically ill patient care. Participates in developing, implementing, evaluating, and revising policies, procedures, and guidelines. Provides constructive feedback to peers and supports colleagues through knowledge sharing to promote safe, quality nursing practice. Fosters a safe, supportive environment that encourages professional development of healthcare staff. Evaluates outcomes of evidence-based decisions and practice changes for individuals, groups, and populations. Responsible for documenting outcomes at the program or service level. Applies broad, complex knowledge across organizational levels within the facility. Integrates theoretical concepts, strong critical thinking skills, and expert technical practice. Preferred Experience: One year of experience as a Registered Nurse within an Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
