The VA Northeast Ohio Healthcare System is recruiting for multiple full-time, part-time, and intermittent Registered Nurse vacancies across various departments within Patient Care Nursing Services.

This announcement includes opportunities across multiple units and clinics within the VA Northeast Ohio Health Care System, including: Medical and Surgical Intensive Care; Emergency Department; Step-Down/Progressive Care; Telemetry; General Medicine & Surgical (Med-Surg); Operating Room; Pre- and Post-Operative Care; Community Living Center (including Hospice and Short-Term Rehab); Spinal Cord Injury Unit; Inpatient Psychiatry (Geriatric and Acute); Outpatient Mental Health; Continuous Veno-Venous Hemodialysis; Primary Care Clinics; Geriatric Extended Care Units; Community Care; Float Pool; Infusion Clinic; and other Specialty Areas. Please note that this announcement does not include positions at our Community Based Outpatient Clinics. As a Staff Nurse, you will provide prescribed medical treatment and personal care services to ill and injured Veterans. Responsibilities include documenting observations, assessments, and changes in patient condition; collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to support positive patient outcomes; and delivering a full range of nursing care to patients with diverse medical or behavioral needs. Staff Nurses are accountable for meeting and maintaining the qualification standards and functional statements associated with their grade level. We are seeking candidates with strong organizational skills, demonstrated leadership within a patient-centered care model, and the ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, visitors, and members of the interdisciplinary team. The incumbent is expected to lead by example in promoting a customer-service culture-treating all individuals with respect and civility-and to actively cultivate partnerships with our customers to develop effective solutions that meet their needs. VA offers a comprehensive total rewards package: VA Nurse Total Rewards Pay: Competitive salary, regular salary increases, potential for performance awards Paid Time Off: 50 days of paid time off per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year) Retirement: Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by VA Insurance: Federal health/vision/dental/term life/long-term care (many federal insurance programs can be carried into retirement) Licensure: 1 full and unrestricted license from any US State or territory Work Schedule: Full-time, part-time (unit-specific part-time hours range from 8 to 72 hours per pay period), and intermittent/PRN. Assigned schedules correspond to the specific clinic, and may include days, nights, weekends, rotating shifts, and holidays.
