This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) & eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application. Former EDRP participants ineligible to apply.

The incumbent works independently within the service and reports to the service chief. Duties include but are not limited to the following: Interprets diagnostic digital radiography, CT, MRI and US examinations of the brain, spine, neck, body, extremities and internal organs as appropriate. Primary responsibilities will include supervising the teaching of the Radiology Resident Physicians. Accesses studies for interpretation through the CAVHS Picture Archiving and Communications System(s) and reports findings electronically through the CAVHS voice-recognition dictation software. Communicates and documents communication of life-threatening findings immediately to referring physicians at remote facilities Functions in a professional manner in all relationships with management, co-workers and referring physicians. Protects printed and electronic files containing sensitive data in accordance with the provisions of the Privacy Act of 1974 and other applicable laws, Federal regulations, VA statutes and policy, and VHA policy. Protects the data from unauthorized release or from loss, alteration, or unauthorized deletion. Follows applicable regulations and instructions regarding access to computerized files, release of access codes, etc. Uses word processing software to execute several office automation functions such as storing and retrieving electronic documents and files; activating printers; inserting and deleting text, formatting letters, reports, and memoranda; and transmitting and receiving e-mail. Uses the Veterans Health Information and Technology Architecture (VistA) to access information in the Medical Center Computer System Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:30pm Tele-Radiology positions were granted a 180-day mid-term extension from the return to office mandates for clinical staff. Although this position is currently remote, it is subject to change based on the needs of the organization. In which case office space would be assigned at a local VA Facility/CBOC or Federal Agency. This position may be filled as Virtual (i.e., the employee may work at a VA facility or VA-leased space other than the facility that is hiring the employee) or Remote (i.e., the employee will not work at a VA facility or VA-leased space. Typically, this means working from home 100%). Telework has not been authorized. VA supports the use of filling virtually to help attract and retain talented individuals in public service, increase worker productivity, and better prepare the agency to operate during emergencies. Potential duty location may be discussed during the interview process.
