This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. The VA Atlanta Health Care System is recruiting for a full-time Physician - Dermatology MOHS for Specialty Care service. The physician reports administratively and clinically to the Dermatology Section Chief. VA offers a comprehensive total rewards package. VHA Physician Total Rewards. Pay: Competitive salary, annual performance bonus, regular salary increases Paid Time Off: 50-55 days of paid time off per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year and possible 5 day paid absence for CME) Retirement: Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by VA Insurance: Federal health/vision/dental/term life/long-term care (many federal insurance programs can be carried into retirement) Licensure: 1 full and unrestricted license from any US State or territory CME: Possible $1,000 per year reimbursement (must be full-time with board certification) Malpractice: Free liability protection with tail coverage provided Contract: No Physician Employment Contract and no significant restriction on moonlighting Duties include, but are not limited to: Diagnosis of patients with neoplastic, inflammatory and other dermatologic problems in outpatient and inpatient areas. Directly provides medical and surgical treatment of skin diseases to veterans. Provides appropriate and directs oversight of mid-level providers, dermatology resident physicians, and other trainees present in the dermatology clinic. Receives and provides triage and disposition for dermatology consults from VA providers as assigned. Reviews requests for dermatologic care including Mohs surgery from community care providers and determines that requested care is appropriate. Implements treatment strategies for skin diseases. Performs and interprets the results of laboratory tests from blood, skin and other tissues as well as skin biopsies to evaluate skin diseases and the effect(s) of therapy. Guides clinical trainees in Dermatology providing both didactic and experiential teaching. Provides professional (in-person or through telemedicine means) advice and consultation in areas related to skin disease. Provides clinical supervision to dermatology residents and other trainees in the dermatology clinic. Oversees the establishment of program monitors and outcome measurements within programs assigned using a data-driven quality assurance process. Responsible for timely completion of all clinical charting and documentation required by the Medical Center or healthcare system as appropriate. Presents outcome data and research results at VA and regional or national scientific or professional meetings when possible. Assists in preparation of clinic SOPs, RFP's and grant proposals, as assigned. Serves on Medical Center or Health Care System, VISN, and/or National VA committees or task forces as assigned. Represents Section Dermatology on decision-making committees at the Medical Center or Health Care System as assigned. Represents the Medical Center or Health Care System at professional/program community group/events and committees as assigned. Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. (subject to change based on the needs of the organization)
