This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: Plans and directs special studies to evaluate the environmental and health impacts of projected waste disposal practices, conducts Occupational and Environmental Health Site Assessments, and multi-media environmental sampling. Located at Tripler Army Medical Center, HI. Conducts epidemiological investigations, on-site water quality analysis, air and soil sampling for environmental and occupational concerns. Provides technical leadership for studies and assessments, assigns work to supporting professional and technician personnel, and directs field activities. Conducts Technical Assistance Visits (TAVs) and training for a variety of Department of Defense (DoD) activities, and Army Preventive Medicine, Medical Detachments (MED DET - PM). Develops and delivers specialized technical training in the areas of biology, chemistry, environmental science/health, sustainability, and environmental management for DoD personnel. Participates in briefings, technical committees, and workshops and is relied upon as a technical authority.
