The Eastern Oklahoma VA Healthcare System seeks a Medical Supply Technician (Sterile Processing) - Coordinator. The role ensures continued utilization of IMS features for a consistent return on investment. The Censitrac Coordinator acts as a liaison with tracking system support, facility Information Systems, and the Contract Software Vendor. Responsibilities include administering all hardware, software, and accessory equipment to maintain an efficient tracking system. Tulsa (James Mountain Inhofe VAMC) - https://youtu.be/3fMEu0iS7_Q?si=Y5RtGcnKKbJGxxk6 Total Rewards of a Allied Health Professional Monitors quality assurance in cleaning/decontamination, sterilization, reprocessing, and distribution of surgical instruments and medical equipment in four SPS work areas Ensures proper procedures are followed and items are safe for use Adheres to national sterile processing standards for cleaning and reprocessing of reusable medical devices (RMD) Coordinates structured training and ensures staff competency through reviews and demonstrations Coordinates with hospital departments (OR, dental, endoscopy, ER, clinics) to ensure compliance with directives Updates the Chief on patient safety alerts and issues with reusable medical devices Evaluates internal processes using fact-finding or investigative techniques Analyzes and evaluates facts to address unsatisfactory conditions or trends Applies methods to investigate and recommend corrective actions on quality problems Ensures appropriateness of work during quality reviews using SPS policies and infection control procedures Utilizes Microsoft Word, Excel, and other software programs Applies aseptic principles and techniques for sterilization, including testing effectiveness Communicates directives, rules, and regulations in writing and orally Demonstrates the goals of Sterile Processing and effective tracking systems Provides excellent customer service to internal and external customers Develops and reviews policies and procedures impacting IMS; seeks approvals for SOP changes and recommends amendments as technology evolves Performs data entry for new instrument sets, equipment, and procedural trays Manages additions, modifications, and deletions to instrument set count sheet requests Assists in developing disaster plans and downtime procedures for IMS and sterilization equipment Runs administrative reports and provides them to the Chief and Assistant Chief SPS Manages user access levels for the system and adds new users Develops staff competencies in using the tracking system effectively Provides hardware/software support and manages department needs Collaborates with facility IT and Bioengineering for service-level troubleshooting Works with Censis Technologies to resolve system documentation issues Directs overall activities of Censitrac with the Assistant Chief and assists with orientation and training for new and ongoing changes Ensures compliance with professional standards (OSHA, The Joint Commission, CDC, AAMI) Develops and manages staff in instrument marking and data entry Orients new employees and conducts in-services on instrumentation tracking Implements new functionality and resolves user questions on system processing Performs system file maintenance including digital images for instruments or sets Communicates openly with departments, supervisors, peers, and staff Assists with the PI program related to IMS Troubleshoots system and accessory equipment issues and follows up with vendors for resolution Ensures compliance with reusable medical devices (RMD) standards Work Schedule: Hours vary from 6:30am-8:30pm. Pay: Competitive salary and regular salary increases Paid Time Off: 37-50 days of annual paid time offer per year (13-26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year).
