About the Position: Serves as Medical Records Technician (MRT), functioning primarily as an inpatient/outpatient records coder. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation. Assign specific codes to medical records, and sequence codes to accurately reflect the resources and procedures used in the care of the patients. Ensure compliance with regulatory and third-party insurance requirements. Correlate operation codes with diagnosis codes to ensure the most descriptive code is selected. Code complicated medical records having diagnostic, surgical and therapeutic procedures that are identified as difficult to classify. Assure accurate coding of diseases, injuries, manifestations, operations, and nonsurgical procedures. Use specialized procedures and methods to correct and amend records. Perform quantitative analysis and check medical record for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with regulatory requirements. Identify and document any incident which may denote a potential compensatory event or questionable breach of quality of care delivered.
