You will serve as a Maintenance Mechanic and be responsible for performing general maintenance mechanic duties at the Industrial Support Detachment.. Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team. Typical work assignments include: Inspecting, repairing, cleaning and outfitting buoys and associate components. Performing welding and cutting on steel buoy components. Preparing and painting buoys, marine navigation aids, towers, battery racks, and related structures. Applying specialized marine coating systems ensuring proper mixing, thickness, texture, and finish. Preparing metal surfaces to remove rust, scale, dirt, and old coatings. Operating, fork trucks, front-end loaders and other material handling equipment. All qualification requirements must be met by the closing date of the announcement.
