Responsibilities:
Curriculum & Lesson Planning:
Designing and implementing lesson plans that align with state or school board curriculum standards.
Analyzing prescribed texts and adapting materials to cater to various learning styles.
Using primary sources, multimedia resources, and modern teaching strategies to make history relevant and accessible.
Classroom Instruction & Engagement:
Delivering interactive lessons on significant historical figures, movements, and eras.
Fostering inclusive and thought-provoking classroom discussions that challenge students to critically analyze historical contexts.
Using digital technology to enhance presentations and keep students attentive.
Assessment & Feedback:
Designing and grading quizzes, exams, essays, and student projects to evaluate subject mastery.
Providing constructive, actionable feedback to support individual student growth and academic progress.
Utilizing school grading systems and platforms to keep accurate, transparent records of performance.
Student Mentorship & Administration:
Promoting the general well-being, attendance, and pastoral care of students within their care.
Communicating effectively with parents and guardians through report cards and meetings to discuss student performance and interventions.
Collaborating with fellow faculty members to cross-reference history with other subjects (e.g., literature, geography).
Extracurriculars & Professional Development:
Sourcing guest speakers, organizing historical events, and planning educational field trips to enrich learning.
Participating in ongoing professional development opportunities to stay up to date with educational best practices and historical research
Requirements:
Minimum qualification of NCE.
2 years of previous experience in a similar role.
Remuneration: NGN 70,000
