This position is for a ELECTRONICS MECHANIC SUPERVISOR, PD# D1261000, part of the Nevada Army National Guard. Responsible for supervising workers directly or through subordinate leaders and/or supervisors in accomplishing the work of the function. Plans work operations of great scope, complexity, and administrative authority. Determines the sequence, priority, and time for the performance of particular operations within the limits of broad work schedules and time limits.
Planning: Plans use of subordinate workers, equipment, facilities, and materials on a week-to-week or month-to-month basis. Establishes deadlines, priorities, and work sequences, and planswork assignments based on general work schedules, methods, and policies set by the supervisor.Coordinates work with supporting or related work functions controlled by other supervisors.Determines the number and types of workers needed to accomplish specific projects. Redirectsindividual workers and resources to accomplish unanticipated work. Informs the supervisor of theneed to revise work schedules and re-estimate labor and other resources. Participates with thesupervisor in the initial planning of current and future work schedules, budget requests, staffingneeds, estimates, and recommendations as to scheduling projected work. Work Direction: Investigates work related problems such as excessive costs or low productivity and determines causes. Implements corrective actions within their authority to resolve work problems. Recommends solutions to staffing problems, engineering requirements, and work operations directed by other supervisors. Administration: Plans and establishes overall leave schedules. Determines training needs of subordinates and arranges for accomplishment. Sets performance standards, and makes formal appraisals of subordinate work performance. Initiates recommendations for promotion or reassignment of subordinates. Performs the non-supervisory work of the function as needed. Implements regulatory safety requirements and ensures that subordinates wear appropriate safety equipment and follow pertinent safety precautions. Prepares for and participates in various types of readiness evaluations, inspections, mobilizationand command support exercises. May be required to perform such additional duties as structuralfire fighting, aircraft fire/crash/rescue duty, security guard, snow removal, munitions loading andhandling, heavy equipment operation, maintenance of facilities and equipment, or to serve as ateam member on boards to cope with natural disasters or civil emergencies. Performs other duties as assigned.
MILITARY REQUIREMENTS: Compatible military grade and assignment required prior to the effective date of placement. In compliance with Title 32 United States Code, the compatible military skill set is determined by the applicable service manpower requirements. Upon selection, individuals are assigned to the authorized position and its compatible military skill in accordance with Army skill classification directives, statutes, and National Guard Bureau regulations. The Dual Status technician must obtain and maintain all military skill requirements in regard to training, education, certifications, experience. Compatible Military Assignment: E7 through E9 OR WO1 through WO3 Compatible MOS: 913A, 915, 948, 25 Series, 91series,19 series, or 11series *Other Requirements & Conditions of Employment: - National Guard Membership is required. - Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service. - Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation. - Must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance of the position. - May be required to successfully complete a probationary period. - Must maintain local network access IAW AR 25-2. - Wear the uniform appropriate for the members' grade and component of the armed forces, maintaining standards of conduct and appearance. - This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position. - Ability to establish effective professional working relationships with coworkers and customers, contributing to a cooperative working environment and successful accomplishment of the mission. - May occasionally be required to work other than normal duty hours; overtime may be required. - The duties and responsibilities of your job may significantly impact the environment. You are responsible to maintain awareness of your environmental responsibilities as dictated by legal and regulatory requirements, your organization, and its changing mission. - For positions requiring the operation of motor vehicles, candidates must have a valid state driver's license.
