You will serve as a ELECTRONIC INDUSTRIAL CONTROLS MECHANIC in the PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT of NAVFAC SOUTHWEST. You will evaluate the impact that electronically controlled industrial equipment repairs and adjustments will have on related integral devices. You will determine the effects that alterations will have on a total system to verify added equipment will function correctly. You will analyze diagnostic test readings and operating conditions of electronically controlled industrial equipment to isolate system malfunctions. You will use all types of test equipment to measure input and output voltages, amperage, cycles, check continuity and impose various electrical loads. You will be required to utilize computers, laptops, and testing equipment to troubleshoot problems prior to responding to field location where repairs will occur. You will be responsible for performing a combination of construction, maintenance, repair, manufacture, modification, utilities operation, or equipment operation involving diverse skills.
