About the Position: Serves as the primary assistant to an oral surgeon for a variety of complex oral maxillofacialprocedures performed in hospital operating room or dental clinic. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation Takes preliminary dental impressions. Operates dental X-ray equipment to take intra and extra-oral radiographs Sterilizes instruments, materials, equipment, and prepares surgical trays Assists the oral surgeon in the hospital operating room Retracts tissues, protects nerves, protects and retracts maxillary artery and temporalis muscle Assists in wiring splints and maintains placement of special retractors. Monitors patient under general anesthesia or sedation throughout surgery, Prepares and places surgical dressings, removes contaminated instruments, and cuts sutures on direction Cleans and sterilizes materials, instruments, and equipment
