This position is with the U. S. Department of Labor, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), within the Directorate of Technical Support and Emergency Management (DTSEM) in the Office of Statistical Analysis, located in Washington, DC. Duties for the Data Scientist position include, but are not limited to the following: Serves as an OSHA expert in the analysis and evaluation of occupation associated injury and illness data. Designing and conducting studies to identify emerging occupational safety and health threats. Representing the agency on work related injury and illness data committees, intra-agency workgroups, advisory panels and boards, task forces, public forums, and public hearings to address questions related to occupational epidemiology, data evaluation and analysis. Leading inter and intra-agency committees and workgroups on occupation associated injury and illness data analysis and epidemiology. Advising OSHA senior leadership on the design of proposed health science analytic projects and studies.
