The USDA Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) is the public health regulatory agency responsible for ensuring the safety of meat, poultry, Siluriformes, and processed eggs. Analyze staffing levels, travel, materials, and related requirements to provide cost data and information for program planning and evaluation activities. Advise management officials on financial matters and administer department’s annual budget accounts. Evaluate budgetary and fiscal data for consistency with estimates, current program operations, and anticipated changes in mission, staffing, and funding. Maintain proper financial balances and distribute resources within planned limitations to maximize benefits from available resources. Compile, consolidate, analyze, and synthesize OA requirements into a unified financial plan considering needs and cost trends for travel, supplies, training, and staffing. Advise management officials on human resources matters by coordinating organizational needs with human resources office requirements. Review completed position descriptions and work plans for format and uniformity before submission to the human resources office. Identify and research problems in administrative and clerical support areas, including distribution and changes in employee status.
